You already know how to buy ships and you know how to get credits from mining. Let’s go kill some NPCs! You assign, you launch. What now?!

You are now in your local tactical map. For combat, there are a few things to keep in mind.

If you click an enemy as in this case Rank & Size determines its “level”. The lower it is the easier it is to kill. The higher it is the harder it is to kill. XP gain depends on Rank & Size of your enemy. Pirates, monsters, players and many more give different XP!

Make sure you want to hit your target and that you can do it with the ship you have.

Press “Intercept” to move closer to your target.

You are best in a range between 0 - > 100 Mkm. This depends on weapon types and ship sizes & Target. You can see the distance under Target ship name.

You are in range, press in weapon systems “Fire”.

Every cycle is a tick. You will also be shot at obviously and sustain damage.

Repair shields and hull can be done at the left side of your map where “Hyperdrive” button is. There will appear a Repair Hull/Shield button once you sustained damage. Depending on your engineering skill it will repair % percentage.

If you lose, you lose your ship. You will be sent back to your Faction Starbase. And then it is back to mining again or Take/buy a new ship.

Left in the upper tab “Logs” you can look back at what has happened. To learn, to confirm or maybe spot a bug! Don’t forget to report all bugs! Do not abuse them!

Also, remember that ships have now skills too and can be upgraded by ship XP. XP you gain through combat, for now, it only applies to combat ships and will expand into mining ships and other ships. It is similar to your character XP just focused on gunnery, piloting and engineering for now. Character and ship XP gain is different, but distribution of it into skills is the same flow.
